Free Health Tips That Actually Work (Simple Daily Habits for Better Energy)
There was a time when I thought improving my health meant doing more.
More supplements.
More complicated routines.
More expensive products.
But over time, I realized something: a lot of the things that actually made the biggest difference… were free.
Simple, everyday habits that support your body in a way that feels natural and sustainable.
Not overwhelming. Not extreme.
Just consistent!
Why Simple Health Habits Matter More Than Expensive Products
There’s nothing wrong with supplements or extra support, but a lot of the foundations of good health are actually free!
Things like sunlight, movement, and daily rhythms have a huge impact on how your body functions.
And when those are in place, everything else tends to work better 😊
The Best FREE Health Tips
You want to know a secret, friend?
There's a lot of expensive health support out there.
Some of it's worth it, some of it isn't.
But the truth is you can do quite a bit to support your health that is entirely free. Really!
So let’s dive into my favorite, science-backed and totally accessible ways to support your health, without spending a dime!

My favorite completely FREE ways to support your health
Get Morning Sunlight First Thing
Don’t wanna buy $1200 worth of supplements and still work toward balancing your hormones? Get that soft, beautiful, morning sunshine on bare eyes (no contacts or glasses, as they will block the UV rays!)
This is one of the simplest and most impactful things you can do for your health.
Morning sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, which affects:
sleep
hormones
energy levels
mood
Our circadian rhythm and hormones (which ones, you ask? Nearly all of them!) are incredibly interconnected.
Cortisol (and melatonin) is often thought as being connected to circadian rhythm and it IS, but it’s not the only one! Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, AND thyroid hormones can either be supported or imbalanced as a result of circadian rhythm health.
(It’s okay if it’s cloudy, rainy, etc.. it still works!)
And did you know - your eyes are a PART of your nervous system?! Sunlight (through our eyes) directly informs our sleep quality and nervous system regulation!
(Fun fact, my oldest son's glasses prescription has been cut in HALF and I have no doubt his morning sun exposure is a huge part of that!)
FAQ: if you wake up before the sun, just get your 5-10 minutes once its up and try to keep lighting dim beforehand!
Walk Daily Outdoors (Even If It’s Short)
Walking is so underrated, guys. It's not your grandma's exercise anymore.
It supports:
circulation
digestion
stress levels
overall energy
And it doesn’t require a gym, a plan, or a perfect schedule! Even a short walk can help you feel more grounded and clear.
It's easy, accessible, great for sunshine exposure and lymphatic support, easy on the joints, great for your nervous system, perfect for some friend hang time…I COULD GO ON. I clearly love walking.
Get Outside and Ground (in Untreated Grass!) When You Can
I've been a firm believer in grounding for years, but if it's new for you, I can very much understand that it seems maybe a little…woo woo.
But guess what, it's actually just SCIENCE! 😮
The earth has a more negative electron charge that our bodies can absorb through contact. Why does that matter?
Our bodies are constantly fighting for balance between free radicals (inflammation and oxidative stress) and antioxidants. (That can sound a bit technical, but think of it simplified as inflammation vs. wellness). Grounding can allow our bodies to take those negative electrons from the earth's surface in order to decrease the level of inflammation (free radicals) in our bodies.
It's honestly mind-blowing how God designed the earth and our bodies!
“Accumulating experiences and research on earthing, or grounding, point to the emergence of a simple, natural, and accessible health strategy against chronic inflammation” - (PubMed link here!)
Spending time outside, especially with your feet on the ground, can be surprisingly calming.
Whether it’s:
grass
sand
or just being outside in general
It helps slow things down and reconnect your body to a more natural rhythm. This doesn’t have to be complicated - just time outside counts!
Sweat Regularly
Here in Texas, you don't even need a fancy sauna, just go sit outside in the afternoon 😉😮💨
Sweating can help lower our toxic burden, improve your lymphatic system health, and boost immune and cardiovascular health.
Just make sure you're getting plenty of that mineral-rich hydration, too!
Sweating is a natural way your body supports detox and regulation, no crazy protocol or supplement required.
That could look like:
a workout
sitting in the sun
a sauna
or just moving your body enough to break a sweat!
Support Your Lymphatic System (With the Big 6 Routine!)
This 2-5 minute routine is SO simple and honestly fun. It’s a great one to do with your kids as well!
Dr. Perry Nickelston, the creator of the Big Six Lymph reset routine and the Stop Chasing Pain organization has fantastic resources on movement, lymphatic support, and system body health.
This short video shows you how to do a full body lymphatic drainage support!
Your lymphatic system plays a big role in how your body moves waste and supports overall health. And it thrives on movement.
Simple things like:
walking
stretching
dry brushing
or rebounding
Signs Your Body Might Need More Support
Sometimes we jump straight to adding more supplements or changing everything at once. But often, your body is just asking for more support in the basics.
You might notice:
low or inconsistent energy
poor sleep
feeling wired but tired
increased stress
That doesn’t always mean you need something new! It might mean you need more consistency with what already works.
How to Start (Without Overthinking It)
You don’t need to do all of this at once! In fact, it works better if you don’t. 😉
Start with one thing:
a short walk
getting sunlight in the morning
stepping outside for a few minutes
That’s enough! Once that feels natural and attainable, you can build from there.
When This Started to Last for Me
When I stopped trying to do everything perfectly and just focused on simple, supportive habits, things started to feel easier.
And the same thing applied to food!
Because once your foundation is in place, everything else becomes a lot more manageable.
That’s a big part of why I focus on simple, nourishing meals in my Nourish Cookbook - real food that supports your body without adding more stress or complexity.
And for kids, I’ve found the same approach works just as well, which is what led me to create my Tots Cookbook!Easy, family-friendly recipes built on these same principles.
It Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated, Friend!
There’s so much noise around health right now.
But a lot of it comes back to really simple things:
getting outside
moving your body
supporting your natural rhythms
And doing those things consistently.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to overhaul your entire life to feel better, truly.
Sometimes the most impactful changes are the simplest ones…the ones that don’t cost anything, don’t require perfect timing, and actually fit into your real life.
Start small. Stay consistent. And let it build from there!
