Sick Season Essentials I Always Have on Hand

My Current Favorite Support Tools (after a decade of natural wellness trial and error)

Good luck out there y'all - it's rare to know anyone who isn't sick right now! I'm thankful my family has stayed mostly well this winter season and am grateful to feel empowered if we do face anything viral.

In my early motherhood, I was too reliant on outsourcing our wellness and sick recovery. It's a much more peaceful, affordable, and honestly convenient life to feel that I now have tools on hand to support us!

My Current Favorite Support Tools (after a decade of natural wellness trial and error)

✅ Daily Immune Support - My favorite EASY and affordable way to support staying well are daily sinus spray (one for each family member) and daily propolis throat spray
You can increase to several times a day in times of illness, and I also do an extra dose if I've been in a crowded location.

✅ Castor oil packs - Queen of the Thrones has my favorite organic castor oil and wraps as well!

These are great for general liver support and detox (I sleep with mine several nights a week outside of my menstrual cycle) and they also are incredibly effective at breaking up lung congestion when worn on the chest!

I like for each person in my household to have their own wrap - there's a great kid size as well!

In truth, I could honestly do an entire post on the magic of good castor oil! I also have a thyroid wrap and use castor oil for swollen lymph nodes, injuries, etc.

✅ Herbal Support - These kid-friendly Immune Avenger dropper bottles are fantastic both for wellness support and sick care. This Feel Better Fast supplement is also great for acute illness!

✅ Sunshine and fresh air - Don't worry, not everything on this list has to be purchased! I know not everyone has access to what feels like sunshine in the winter months, but the sun's rays are still present even on cloudy days. We take every opportunity to get outdoors and open windows when the weather allows!

✅ Homeopathy - This is admittedly a big field to get into but genuinely - you can do it! I started by ordering a handful of remedies (a kit works, too if you can swing it!) and this amazing reference book.

If a kit feels too pricey don't worry, single remedies are usually less than $10!

Homeopathy is safe, powerful, and effective when used properly - it is medicine! Joette Calabrese is a great online resource for learning more. We have avoided many acute care appointments for a couple of years now thanks largely to homeopathy!

✅ Quality food (I know, you're not surprised!) - Do I include this in every email list ever?? For good reason! “Sick season” is especially the time to nourish your body on a deep and cellular level. Things like bone broth soups, organic meats, in-season fruits and veggies (citrus, some cruciferous veggies, & sweet potatoes - purple sweet potatoes are my FAVE & are in several fun & colorful recipes in my new Tots book! - are all great seasonal options that pack a nutrient punch!).

And if you don't have it yet, my Batch cookbook is like a warm, delicious, & nourishing hug for the colder months!

✅ Magnesium support - Epsom salt baths and topical magnesium spray are both great, safe ways to support magnesium levels that can help us build stress and immune resiliency!

✅ Whole Food Vitamin C - Because it's water-soluble & doesn't really “store up” in our bodies, Vitamin C is always important, but especially in these cold months when we may not be getting as much in our diet! This brand is my favorite whole food based capsule (you can open and pour some into drinks for littles!). And again, take advantage of citrus fruits being in season right now!

I hope this helps!!

This is of course not medical advice and I do hope you have trusted practitioners if you should ever need!  But it is ROUGH out there and we as a community of care-givers, mommas, and wellness advocates are lucky to have one another to glean from ❤️

Wishing you wellness and nourishment!

Fallon
